The North Star Jazz Ensemble was the 'House Band' for the North Star Music recording company from 1985 to 2011.  The group includes Bruce Abbott on saxophone & flute, Ron Fournier on piano, Marty Ballou on bass and Paul Mason on drums. Special guests on our recordings have included guitarist Gray Sargent (Tony Bennett), trumpeter John Allmark (Liza Minelli), harmonica player Mike Turk, trombonist Artie Montanaro, guitarist Steve DeConti and many others.

With the addition of guitarist Peter Calo (Carly Simon, Linda Eder, New York Voices) we formed CommonGround and produced recordings in a contemporary jazz style.

The band recorded a dozen CDs for the label that have sold over 300,000 copies. We are pleased to be able to offer our entire recorded library for online download.
