About Trio Vivo...

Trio Vivo features classical music of varied style and mood by composers from the Baroque era to the present day. We travel from early conservative to edgy contemporary as we explore the exciting possibilities that this unusual ensemble of piano, flute and saxophone inspires.
In the fall of 2015 saxophonist Bruce Abbott contacted two Cape Cod-based musicians he had long admired - pianist Lucy Banner and flutist Mariellen Sears - to see if they might be interested in meeting to play through some classical repertoire. A date was made, and at the end of that very exciting first session Lucy and Mariellen asked if all were available to meet the following week. Trio Vivo was born! For the next seven years the threesome continued to meet weekly, exploring new repertoire while honing older material, preparing and organizing concert programs, and enjoying the beauty that results from combining their creative energy. Viva il Trio Vivo!

"Homage to Georgia O'Keeffe" was composed by Trio Vivo saxophonist Bruce Abbott. The inspiration for its title is found in two paintings by Georgia O'Keeffe, Blue and Green Music and Music, Pink and Blue, abstract works in which she tried to evoke the experience of sound.
Published music for this piece is available at Sheet Music Plus. Also available in arrangements for Violin, Cello & Piano and Flute, Clarinet & Piano.
